Title: Imprisoned Feelings

Researching for songs to use for my other module has inspired me to listen deeper into these dramatic tracks and analyse them. I am motivated to create a track that is able to convey strong emotions.

I have chosen to do a sombre dramatic track. My composition will weave a tapestry of melancholic melodies and brooding harmonies, capturing the very essence of sorrow and introspection. With deep, resonant strings that seem to echo the weight of the world, and mournful piano notes that speak of lost hope, the soundtrack envelops the listener in a shroud of emotions. As it unfolds, it carries you through a journey of poignant moments and emotional depth, creating an atmosphere that is both haunting and profoundly moving. Whether accompanying a film, a theatrical performance, or a moment of reflection, this soundtrack will evoke the raw power of human emotion.

The chosen tempo is of 100 beats per minute, the music can unfold with a deliberate and measured pace, allowing each note and phrase to resonate with the listener. This tempo creates a sense of tension and anticipation, drawing the audience into the emotional journey of the soundtrack. It's a tempo that mirrors the ebb and flow of human emotions, capturing the essence of introspection and sorrow with every carefully timed note.

I want to integrate a mellow melody in this soundtrack, which will be the central pillar of its emotional impact. The melody will gently make its way through the composition, evoking a sense of profound melancholy and reflection. I want to evoke a river of bittersweet memories, resonating with the listener's own experiences of loss and longing.

Usage of the same chords for all tracks: Am F C G

Happy:

125 tempo

Happiness is usually associated with good happenings and positivity. An upbeat and lively atmosphere emerges from the uplifting rhythm and beats. The fast tempo allows listeners to embrace the instruments that harmonize together quickly, like fleeting happiness. I achieve this harmony with the use of soft-sounding synthesizers, acoustic guitar, a simple drum beat, and changing the EQ of the tracks.

Sad:

100 tempo

Sadness is subjective. In my opinion, it is when the mood is low or heavy. Sad songs should also reflect that. With a slower tempo and minor chords, a somber mood is achieved. I have used instruments with deep timbre to accentuate the dull atmosphere, they do not sound as positive.

Angry:

130 tempo

A complex and powerful emotion, anger is a special emotion that not many people like feeling. Aggressive elements like pounding drums and powerful basslines make up the base of the composition. A fast tempo conveys emotional intensity. The loud and unconventional instruments from synthesizers make up a striking track, similar to the feeling of anger.
