Iterative Design
Main Deliverable
BEFORE: I was planning to make an animation to pique interest of students to want to know more about scoliosis. The story is about a samurai who wears a scoliosis brace, which serves as both his armor and a treatment for his scoliosis.

Character exploration
AFTER (interview): I redecided my main deliverable to be an all-in-one app instead of it being a transmedia. One interviewee said that their curve progression was very fast, and that it was too late for bracing at that point. That gave me the idea to incorporate a digital scoliometer into the app, where users can measure their curve at any time.

My app also includes stretches and exercises that everyone can do, regardless of whether they have scoliosis or not. A calendar that keeps track of the users information will also be included.
Transmedia: Zine
BEFORE: My zine includes information on how to spot scoliosis and a story about Nila's (Active Health Mascot) scoliosis journey.

AFTER (interview): I restructured my zine's story to separate scenarios of experiences I want to share with readers. I now have 4 scenarios, depicting misconceptions, being dismissive, how scoliosis affects the diagnosed, and teaching about scoliosis. Now it has become shorter and more pamphlet-like.

AFTER (interview): I also wanted to promote sharing of experiences between friends and how they show support to someone feeling down because of their scoliosis, so one of the scenarios showcase that aspect. Being able to talk freely about this issue helps the diagnosed, especially since it's hard for those without scoliosis to empathize.
